Adelheid Mbwaondjou
The poster brings together the image and recording of Adelheid Mbwaondjou, one of the few women whose voices were recorded in colonial archives. The work is currently in development. Recorded in Omaruru in 1954, she sang of the consequences of the colonial war for her community in Otjiherero. The poster and recording will travel with us to Windhoek in October 2026. The translation and narration in the sound piece are by Renathe Meroro-Tjikundi.
