Listening Sessions

May 2026 — Ghent, Belgium

The first listening session based on an Echo Travels poster centred Abdoulaye Niang and took place at the Orpheus Institute as part of Sound Arguments, a workshop series for sound artists.

October 2026 — Windhoek, Namibia

A listening session centred on sound recordings held by the Phonogrammarchiv Vienna and on speakers like Xosi Tshae will take place at the Goethe Institute in Windhoek in the last week of October 2026. This listening session is co-organised by Nashilongweshipwe Mushaandja (UNAM) and Dag Henrichsen (BAB), with generous funding of the Phonogrammarchiv of the Austrian Academy of Science and friendly support of the Goethe Institute in Windhoek. Echo Travel's three posters will travel with the artists and will be presented in Windhoek.
